Announcing the AAFTT Program's 4th annual workshop on August 8, 2010, Orlando, Florida: ATDD Community of Practice Retrospective

As agile matures and its adoption increases, we continue to see mixed results and mixed opinions about Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) - the practice of expressing functional story requirements as concrete and automated examples/expectations prior to story development (also known as Story Test Driven Development, Functional Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development, etc). This year we are hosting a community retrospective to share the successes and reflect on the challenges teams have experienced with ATDD on their projects. The goal is to increase overall community learning so that we can effectively focus our energy on individual, team, tool, and AAFTT program improvements.

We're now accepting registrations. We need an accurate count for catering and to make sure we can get a room that will accommodate everyone. If we run short of space, we'll accept registrations on a first-come, first-served basis. So register early.

What: ATDD Community of Practice Retrospective

When: Sunday, August 8, 2010 (the day before the Agile2010 conference starts).

Where: Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort in Orlando, Florida (same hotel as the Agile2010 conference).

Who Should Attend: The retrospective will be most successful with a broad representation of the community. We are reaching out to a wide variety of:

  • - Roles that participate in ATDD: subject matter experts, analysts, testers, UX designers, developers, coaches, etc

  • - Length of experience: people that are new to the practice and seasoned veterans

  • - Type of experience: hands-on practitioners working in the trenches on individual projects, and coaches/consultants that guide and oversee a range of projects

  • - Agile project types: type of domain, co-located / distributed, experience level, etc

  • - ATDD tools: FIT/nesse, Cucumber, Robot Framework, Web Test, etc, etc

Cost: 0. We're funding the meeting out of our budget. You will, however, have to pay your own travel costs. We're not subsidizing travel for anyone this time.

Declan, I'm wild to see this fixtureless testing.
